The services are grouped the way that you would describe them to a customer, and the homepage starts with the one or two things that a new client needs to know before they call. Google and the AI assistants read the same structure, so each page appears for the question that it answers. Visitors reach what they came for in one or two clicks.

SEO while I build. Because I design and code the site as one job, the SEO goes in while the pages are built rather than afterwards. Each page uses the words that your customers actually type into Google, and the title and description that Google shows say clearly what the page is about. The site loads quickly on a phone, which is where most people will see it first.

From €1200. Websites start at €1200, with the figure depending on the number of pages and how much of the design and functionality is custom. You get a fixed quote before any work starts. The goal is a site that runs smoothly for years, so it can end up cheaper than something that only looks cheaper up front.

Custom, from scratch. The design starts from a blank page, and every part of it is made for your content. That is worth paying for when the look is part of what you are selling, or when the site has to show or do things that no ready-made design allows. It needs more design time, so it costs more and takes longer.

A ready-made theme. The alternative starts from a design that already exists. I shortlist a few whose code I have checked and that suit what you do, and you pick one. Then I change the colours and the fonts to match your brand and arrange the pages around your content, with the same SEO and speed work as on a custom build. This route gets a credible site online faster and within a tighter budget. You give up some flexibility, because the design has to work within what the theme was built to do.

A practical rule. As a practical rule, choose custom when the look and feel of the site is part of why people will choose you. When the site mainly needs to present clear information well, a configured theme is usually enough. If the site is a store, the same decision applies to the storefront. WordPress or static. Both routes can be built on WordPress or as a static site. WordPress is the choice when you'll be editing the content yourself, or when the site has a blog or anything else that changes often. A static site is hand-coded pages with no CMS behind them, which suits a site whose content rarely changes. There is nothing to update, very little to attack, and the hosting is cheaper. In every case the result is a responsive site built from code that belongs to you.

Enquiry and quote

A fixed quote first. You tell me about the business, what the site needs to do, and roughly what you want to spend. I come back with what's realistically achievable, a fixed quote, and a timeline. No work starts until you've agreed to both.

Content and structure

Content before design. Before any design, we sort out what the pages will say: the services, the text, the photos. I plan the site structure around that content. If some of it doesn't exist yet, I'll help you shape it.

Design and build

Design and code together. I design and code the site at the same time, and you get a private link to watch it take shape and give feedback while changes are still easy to make.

Launch

Live, with nothing lost. The site goes live on your domain, on hosting that I run or with a provider you already use. I register it with Google and add visitor statistics if you want them. If you had a site before, anything it earned in Google carries over.

Afterwards

Yours to update. You own the site and everything in it, and I show you how to update the content yourself. A WordPress site also needs some care once it is live, because WordPress and its plugins receive updates. A small site with a handful of plugins needs very little.
